Old business – A thank you card and plant was received by Diane Gregory thanking the club from the recipient of the $500 bursary in June.   He indicated that he would be taking a year off before beginning his post-secondary education.   The question rose as to whether or not the money had already been issued.   The executive to follow up as the money should not be released until the recipient provides a copy of their enrolment into a post secondary institution

New business –·         Speakers have been booked for the full year and Diane hoping to post the list on the clubs new blog.

A discussion was held regarding the amount to be designated for the Bursary for 2017 and also should we be giving one $500 bursary, two $500 bursaries, or one $1000 bursary.

Committee reports –

Field trips –·         No report available.  Diane mentioned that it may be possible for the club to subsidize a bus trip in the coming year.   Members asked for ideas.

Library –·         Discussion as to keep or not keep the Club Library.   Currently the bookcase is stored in Diane’s garage.  Measurements need to be taken to see if the case would store away into the designated closet area that has been made available by the school before a final decision is made.

Queens Park – ·         Jennifer reported that she and Joanne have been tending both Queens Park and the Museum garden.  This past summer they also managed to do the watering.    Help is needed in this area.

The meeting concluded with the drawing of door prizes and Thank You Gift Certificates given to Diane for hosting the club`s pot luck in June and to Donna for hosting guest speaker Neil Ross, from England in her garden over the summer.
